With flowers starting to bloom and warmer temperatures filling the air, signs of spring are here but more importantly, spring means the Round Top Texas Antique Fair. Several times a year, antique dealers display their one-of-a-kind beauties for eager buyers looking to unearth hidden treasures to take home during the Texas Antique Week.
The Original Round Top Texas Antique Fair started it all 50 years ago this year and earned a proud reputation for unsurpassed quality and unique, one-of-a-kind antiques.
The Round Top Antiques Fair offers a Spring, Fall, and now winter antique show for all those looking to take home a new-to-them treasured antique.
Spring Show – April 1st – 6th, 2019
Fall Show – September 30th – October 5th, 2019
Winter Show – TBD
The Round Top Texas Antique Fair takes place in Round Top, TX, a small town along HWY 237 between Houston and Austin. The antique show itself is held at the Big Red Barn Event Center, which includes the iconic Big Red Barn, The Original Continental Tent, and the Big Red Barn Annex.
Hitting the stretch of small towns along HWY 237 between Carmine and LaGrange, other vendors and dealers set up in tents, barns, and other various venues for thousands of shoppers and on-lookers.
Beat the lines and the crowds with early V.I.P. access. V.I.P. shopping hours are Monday, April 1st, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The cost for tickets is $20. General admission tickets are available for $10, which will give you access for all show dates. While tickets are available at the door, it is advised to buy ahead of time, online.
Be sure to bring with you, sunscreen, a large tote or shopping bag, cash, plenty of water, measuring tape, and wear comfortable shoes.
With over 30,000 sq. feet to cover, there is a plethora of antiques to choose from. If you get carried away, there are porters available to carry items to your car and shippers on site to address larger items. Also feel free to negotiate, for the right price. Sometimes simply asking: “Is this your best price?” can go a long way.
Free parking is available at the venue. Opening days can bring a large amount of traffic along HWY 237, so it is advised to use HWY 290 when possible.
The town of Round Top itself has very limited lodging options, so most seek accommodations in nearby towns. Just 50 miles from Round Top, the town of Rockdale, TX, is a perfect place to make your home base during the antique show. Enjoy a little piece of Texas history with a stay at Rainbow Courts.
Rainbow Courts offers affordable and comfortable rooms and suites, each with their own story to tell. With top-notch amenities such as luxury linens, premium furnishings, and aromatherapy bath products you can’t help but feel relaxed and refreshed with a stay at Rainbow Courts.
