The historic Apache Pass River Theater in Rockdale, Texas hosts a variety of special events throughout the year including concerts, Pow Wows and Rallies. The Apache Pass Texas Amphitheater is located on the El Camino Real de los Tejas, the National Historic Trail that runs from Louisiana to Old Mexico. The El Camino Real Trail was used for centuries as an exploration trade route. This is the trail taken by the ‘Father of Texas’ Stephen Fuller Austin, as well as the legendary Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, Sam Houston and many early missionaries to the area. There are three mission sites designated by historical markers within 9 miles of Rockdale and next to the Apache Pass River Theater.
